The challenge
Identity-document processing on mobile devices needs to be fast within the limits of on-device compute. This SDK focused on Malaysian IDs, passports, and visas, with real-time image processing as a core requirement.
The engineering
- Built a mobile SDK for identity-document optical character recognition.
- Integrated native C++ image-processing code into Android through JNI.
